"Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing." So said the great Abraham Lincoln. I have been thinking about a person's character a lot lately. What generates respect for a person in our society today and what totally diminishes it? Dwight Eisenhower also said, The qualities of a great man are "vision, integrity, courage, understanding, the power of articulation, and profundity of character."
How many of us can truly say we have all those qualities? Think about the people that we have personal relationships with. Do you have the courage to stand up to them when they suggest activities that compromise your integrity? Does your life reflect what you truly believe or is it a shadow of society's profile for a "normal, average" person?
Dare to understand yourself, your flaws and your virtues. Don't be afraid to be you. When the shadow of death lies over you and you reflect on your life, let it be a time of rejoicing..of recognizing that you embodied you...your own unique self that held firm to what you knew was right...depart with an autobiography that can be read and treasured by all.

Who is Bitter, the Truth or I?

So apparently a couple of guys thought my previous blog was directed towards them. So I solemnly swear (right hand raised) that everything posted was from personal experience and not directed towards anyone in particular....To my readers...the purpose of this blog is to explore the complexities of it the love of music, chocolate, movies, games, and the interesting relations between a man and a woman. I will write according to my mood and muse..the contributions of you, my darlings...are greatly appreciated be it negative or postive...this is my way of releasing all the thoughts that continuously swirl through my head and letting you experience the world a little from my point of view. :) And if anyone has a problem with this...please refer to the disclaimer above. :)

Guys-How Do They Get Away With It All?

Sooo..I'm beginning to think that all guys should be hooked up to lie detectors the first weeks into a relationship. At least on the first date..I mean really, what is up with the caliber of men out there now a days? Why is it that whenever a girl finds a guys who is decently attractive and appears to have a good job, career etc., she soon finds out A. He has already been married once or twice. B. He really is unemployed. C. He thinks world of warcraft is the real world. D. His buddies' opinions mean more than yours and he is permanently attached to them. E. He really does think he deserves Eva Longoria. and F. He needs constant reassurance that he is good enough for you. I could go on all night, but ladies, you get the idea! Why can't guys be honest and straightforward from day one, so two or three weeks in, there isn't that awkward, "Yeah, I'm not really into long-distance relationships," or "Yeah, I was really hoping for Megan Fox.." Comments anyone? Don't be afraid to defend yourself guys. :)

Video Games

So I'm sure everyone knows someone who is addicted to video games. Me? I know several. It seems like every time us kids get together, there will be four or five guys down in the basement, shooting it out. I have in an attempt to be "cool" gone and sat down and tried my best to figure out whats going on. Does it work? Hell no! First of all, the guys are talking code to one another and don't bother to ask what they are saying as they will only reply with an annoyed glance. The high tech machinery, the fabulous graphics, and the fast paced movement of the games is intriguing and completely mind boggling. Yet I foolishly decided to try and play..Let's just say that I was helplessly lost within 5 secs. and literally did not know if I was upside down or right side up in the game.  My competitors killed me mercilessly and I ran head on into the majority of the scenery. Aughhh...yet these games do bring a relative degree of peace to the rest of us ladies as we do our own thing knowing our men will be occupied for a long, long time. Great Christmas presents for the man in your life who will look you straight in the eye and really mean it when he says thank you. :p

Looking to spice up your life?

So who isn't tired of clicking through thousands of profiles on unorganized and cluttered dating sites? Or if the site is good, the selection is limited. Such has been my experience with dating sites such as plenty of fish, speed date, singlesnet, and okcupid, just to name a few. How many times have you sighed in exasperation as you waded through double digits of emails from men (if you can call them that, i prefer boys) who you would not consider dating in a million years...its  so time consuming to go through and delete them and so I would often just leave the messages thus causing undue clutter. I even tried herway, another site where women could go and check out prospects' profiles without their knowledge and be able to contact them. Concept? Great. Selection? Horrible. So my newest venture is The site promotes screening all applicants and only the lucky few are chosen. And best of all, women, the men on here are successful and hot. The only downfall is its free to apply, but to truly communicate you have to pay a membership fee. But hey, whats a measly $200 if you land a millionaire, right? As with everything, love is an investment. You get as much as you give. Best of luck, ladies and gents!
